Pro-Bono Service for 2010-2011

In our bid to spread awareness about environmentally sensitive architecture we are offering pro bono services for community projects in India. We are looking forward to collaborate with community organisations who need technical support.

Save Energy

In India, manufacturing of construction materials consumes 20-25% of the total energy. Further 15% of the energy is consumed while we live in the buildings. According to an estimate of Ministry of Energy, government establishments waste 25% of their electricity consumption by way of faulty and bad design. Its cash value is more than 15 crores of rupees.

Taking literal too literally!!

Who says architecture can't have its fun moments!  This is recently completed building of National Fishery Development Board in Hyderabad. Sure it is going to find due place in the history of architecture.

India needs a housing revolution

India has a shortage of 25 million housing units. An investment of Rupees 3610 Billion is needed to fulfill this requirement. 99% of this requirement is generated by people belonging to economically weaker section. To quote Minister of State for Urban Development " massive urbanization in India has led to severe housing shortage for urban poor, providing affordable housing is a formidable challenge that our country faces today.

It is very much clear that we do not need fancy gated communities thriving on exclusiveness. Sadly current trend overlooks the needs of the millions of end users. The growth that we see today is investor driven. It has made land a commodity that can be traded, brokered and held to make disgustingly high levels of profit.
